A True Story of Black Belt Spirit
At Westy 5280, we teach that a Black Belt is not just something you wear around your waist—it is who you are when the world tests you.
On May 31, 2025, that test came for Black Belt Assistant Instructors Mr. Erich Fox and Mr. Connor Fox. While at Lake Pueblo, sudden high winds caused a boat to flip, plunging a man into the treacherous waters.
Without hesitation, relying on the instinct, courage, and discipline forged through years of martial arts training, Erich and Connor took immediate action. They heroically navigated the dangerous conditions and saved the man's life.
This is the character we build. Not just fighters in the dojo, but protectors in the community.
